Summary: GJS6239 A CRJ7 OUT OF CLT FOR LGA REPORTED A DRONE SIGHTING DESCENDING OUT OF 8,000 FEET 5 SW OF THE VERAZANO NARROWS BRIDGE JUST OFF THE SOUTH SHORE OF STATTEN ISLAND HEADING APPROXIMATELY 050 DEGREES. DRONE WAS BLACK AND A BOX SHAPE WITH 2 LARGE FAN MOTORS. DRONE PASSED AROUND 1OO FEET OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT AND APPEARED TO BE HOVERING. DRONE DID NOT MAKE ANY MOVE TOWARDS THE AIRCRAFT, AND THE PILOT DID NOT TAKE ANY EVASIVE ACTION. NYPD AVIATION UNIT ADVISED. DEN ADVISED. ROC ADVISED.
